The objective of this cell is to encourage technical professionals particularly from IT and related industries to join the mainstream politics to serve the country. This is a platform to encourage such professionals to come forward from the urban lifestyles in corporate world to contribute their ideas and services for the benefit of the people in all corners of the state including remote rural pockets. Telugu Desam Party under the leadership of Mr. Chandrababu Naidu had undertaken several reforms to develop the modern economy of India in the state of Andhra Pradesh. This transformed AP from an industrially & economically backward region to an internationally recognized state in the country. The modern economy comprised of IT, ITES, Biotech & Pharma, entertainment and sports amongst several other things. As a result of the growth of Hyderabad in particular, the transportation industry, real estate, power, telecom, banking, financial services and infrastructure businesses also grew rapidly.
As we all acknowledge, the country and particularly the state of Andhra Pradesh had undertaken several initiatives to encourage the development of IT industry during the TDP regime. Mr.Chandra Babu Naidu personally led this campaign and brought people like Bill Gates & Bill Clinton to Hyderabad to seek their commitments to investments in our state. Our state (AP) was soon transformed to an internationally competitive IT destination of global standards. Without exception, all the big Indian / International names in the IT / ITES industry have setup shop in various locations in Andhra Pradesh now. The total number of people directly employed in this industry in the state has exceeded 250,000 now. The indirect employment and their contribution to the economy is difficult to assess, but this is indisputably the engine of economic growth of our state.
The foundation for this growth has been laid during the TDP regime under the able administration of Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu. We experienced exponential growth during his period. He provided the recognition and importance to this industry sector. While these professionals have contributed to the growth of the country they have not been given political recognition. We believe, that if given an opportunity, some of these individuals can make similar contributions in the political world too.
